How it works

iPhone

  1. On the Home Screen, touch and hold the Don’t Forget Notes app icon and choose a widget size (iOS 18 or later).
  2. If no size appears, touch and hold an empty area, then use “+” or Edit → Add Widget to add Don’t Forget Notes.
  3. The note you chose in the app is displayed. To select a different note for one widget, touch and hold it and choose Edit Widget.

Android

  1. Open a note and tap Add to Home Screen.
  2. Confirm the addition on your device. The note is already selected.
  3. If your launcher does not support this, touch and hold the Home Screen and add Don’t Forget Notes from Widgets. Touch and hold to resize it.

Place it once

Place the widget where you want it once. Editing the same note updates its text, so you do not need to add it again. Touch and hold only when you want to move it.

Also on the Lock Screen

iPhone

Touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customize → Lock Screen, then Add Widgets → Don’t Forget Notes. The rectangle shows a few lines, the circle a short note, and the area above the clock one line. Tap a widget while customizing to select its note. Place it once.

Android

On devices and OS versions that support Lock Screen widgets, add Don’t Forget Notes in the device’s Lock Screen settings. Placement and setup depend on the device. Use the Home Screen widget on other devices.

Choose what others may see

People looking at your screen may read widget notes. Do not select passwords or other private information. Visibility while locked also follows your device’s privacy settings.

Can I type directly in the widget?

Tap the widget to open the editor for that note.

Can I delete notes?

Deleted notes can be restored for 30 days. Permanently deleted notes cannot be restored.
